Terrific Tendulkar torments SA
After losing the toss the South Africans were chasing leather as the Indians looked set to score well in excess of the 298 they managed in the first ODI in Jaipur. The early loss of Virender Sehwag didn't hurt the home side at all as Sachin Tendulkar and Dinesh Karthik brought up brisk half-centuries on a road of a pitch with an array of elegant strokes to keep the crowd entertained.
The margin for error was very little on a pitch where the ball was coming on to the bat very easily. Tendulkar and Karthik had the freedom to drive through the line and each time they pierced the gaps, there was a minimum of two runs for the taking. The racy, yet bumpy outfield only made things tougher for the fielding side.
Only an error on the part of the batsman could have yielded a wicket, and that's what happened to Sehwag. Aiming to hit Wayne Parnell down the ground, he took his bottom hand off the bat at the point of contact, and Dale Steyn took the catch above his head at third man.
Tendulkar was in his element, flicking off his pads and driving neatly through the off side using the pace of the ball. He began by squirting out a half-volley from Parnell through the covers before flicking the next one off his pads past midwicket. Steyn tried to bowl it a bit shorter but Tendulkar responded by pulling him over midwicket and slashing over point. Even the introduction of spin didn't help as Tendulkar gently tucked Roelof van der Merwe off his pads past short fine leg to bring up his fifty, off just 37 balls.
Seeing that there was no movement off the seam, Jacques Kallis took off a slip and placed a short cover. Pretty soon, he abandoned the idea of having a slip, placing him at short midwicket, hoping for one of them to chip in the air off the drive. He then placed a sweeper cover, which was more of a defensive ploy. But it didn't yield immediate results.
Karthik too made merry with shots on both sides of the wicket. Like Tendulkar, he began with consecutive fours off Parnell and kept rotating the strike. His fifty - off 59 balls - wasn't as quick as Tendulkar's but their partnership set up a perfect platform for India.

Dota Reconnection Tool is Almost Done!
The Varlock Dota reconnection project that IceFrog told us before.The project seems work smoothly and might as well released on the near future. IceFrog already doing some test with the Dota reconnection tool and the dropped player can reconnect to the game a few moment later. Sweet! Here is what IceFrog said about this project:
The first version of Varlock's reconnection tool is almost ready for release. We've been testing it in real DotA games for the past few weeks and it has worked very well. We've had many players disconnect only to reconnect moments later, saving otherwise lost games.
The code for this tool (both client and server) will be open source so that anyone can build upon it and integrate it into their platforms and communities.
Wish Dota 6.67 released along with this awesome tool :)

Reconnect Dota Game is Now Possible!
One of the features which people love from Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends is the possibility to reconnect when you got DC (disconnect) from the game. This feature is unfortunately doesn't exist on the Warcraft 3 engine. But thanks to Varlock, there's a glimpse of light for this problem. He already successfully tested the function and planned to applied it to the Garena and other platform in the future. Here is the quote from IceFrog blog:
Varlock, the developer of the popular Ghost hosting bot, has done a successful concept test on this functionality and will work on implementing it for public use inthe future. The technology is portable for Garena (or anything else in theory, if someone wants to port it) as well.
He wanted me to try to help him gauge interest level for his project. It would basically require the host to be using the tool on bnet, garena or any other hosting platform the feature is ported to. Any player that wants to be able to reconnect would have the custom reconnect tool running, but players who are not using the tool could still play in the same games.
The exact time and schedule for its release is not defined yet. The main reason for this post is to help get him feedback so he can decide how much interestpeople have in it and consider his schedule accordingly. If you have any thoughts you want to share with him, you can respond here and I'll relay them to him or you can email him directly at hogantp@gmail.com

Dota 6.67 has New Game Mode and Zoom Features!

Hey guys, I just want to share some small information about the upcoming patch. It is too early for me to give a complete list of features or changes to expect, so I'll just be sharing a couple of small features as a sneak peak.
First, I've implemented a zoom mode for observers to allow spectators and shout casters to see a larger part of the battlefield rather than the current view.
The second is a Capture Point action style game mode. It is designed to be a short fun mode with lots of movement and action, as a break from the usual stuff. There will be many capture points (6+) spread around the map that, when captured, will provide various auras (Damage, Armor, Gold, Regen, Movement Speed, etc) for your team depending on which one is captured. The Capture Points all spawn after the first 10 minutes of the game. You gain control of a CP by standing on it for a certain amount of time (the more allies the faster). Capture Points can always be reclaimed by the enemy team after it is taken or it can also be interrupt during the capturing process itself. Keep in mind that all the mechanics and numbers are not final yet.
These are just two misc things in 6.67 that I wanted to share with you guys. There will of course be more work done on improving the current content with balancing and misc features. If there is something specific you want to see, don't hesitate to let me know.
Too many serious game can make us stressed a lot and WTF mode sometime is too rigged. Hope this new mode can be an alternative to find a new joy ;)

* Fixed a major exploit recently discovered
* Recoded Bounty Hunter's wind walk damage bonus as to not require two seperate attacks to trigger his new passive
* Some Doombringer nerfs:
- Reduced base armor by 2
- Reduced base movement speed by 10
- Increased Scorched Earth cooldown from 60/50/40/30 to 60/55/50/45
* Readjusted the Divine Rapier pickup rules to prevent some abuses.
If the first time the item is lost from its original owner it is picked up by an allied hero, it becomes muted (no damage) until it returns to its owner. If an enemy acquires the rapier, it same rules as the previous version. Here are the complete rapier rules to clarify:
- "Original Rapier" has two modes, active and muted. It is active (bonus damage, droppable) when carried by the owner and muted (no damage, droppable) when carried by an ally
- "Free Rapier" is the item state that occurs when an enemy acquires it. This is a permanent transformation for the item. It will always provide bonus damage and will always be undroppable, regardless of how it switches sides back and forth afterwards. This is the same as the previous patch.
Summary: The primary change that is done here is that a hero cannot intentionally pool the rapier to his ally.
* -unlock now requires a majority vote before the gold and items of a leaver will be released. As a reminder, once a hero is unlocked, it cannot be switched.
* Added a 15 second wait period before the drafting begins in -CD to give both teams a chance to look at the heroes.
* Renamed the controlon/off commands to be clearer which is which. They are now -disableselection (-ds) and -enableselection (-es)
* Various map optimizations
* Fixed an old recipe fusing exploit with leaver items that could result in crashes
* Fixed Essence Shift on units that change form
* Fixed a couple of bugs with Dark Pact debuff
* Added replay data for creep kills/denies (at time intervals,
format: "CSK"+I2S(PlayerID),value and "CSD"+I2S(PlayerID),value)
* Fixed various tooltips
* Fixed gold not being split after using -unlock when someone leaves via -kickafk
* Fixed being able to -unlock while a switch vote is ongoing
* Fixed some spells incorrectly triggering Magic Stick/Essence Aura (Devoured Neutral Troll Priests Heal, Radiance Swap, etc)
* Fixed some -CD language text issues as well as some missing parser information
* Fixed Arcane Ring recipe purchase hotkey
* Fixed some potential Basher bugs on some levels of Spirit Bear
* Fixed an abuse possible with one hero carrying multiple Urn of Shadows
* Fixed the second Forged Spirit from being added to your control despite having control helper turned off
* Fixed a bug with -switch when you have Rapier (that you don't own) on you

Dota 6.66b Map Download - Dota-Allstars 6.66b Official Map has just released! A lot of bug fixes and some nerf. The ultimate Doom Bringer on Dota 6.66 get nerfed pretty much.
